Each year, Todmorden High School works with seven Primary Schools in the local area, to create a wonderful art show exhibiting students’ amazing artwork.
This year has been no exception. Mrs Womack and several colleagues have worked with Castle Hill, Walsden, St Josephs, Todmorden National CofE, Cornholme, Ferney Lee and Shade to do six hours of artwork with each school. Students studied a wide range of techniques and theories including ceramics, zentangle, wet and dry, observational drawing, collage, 3D construction, colour theory, water soluble oil pastel, watercolour, pop art and texture.
Students have been mature and creative in their approach to the work, and have made some fabulous outcomes, as you can see on display here. The students should be extremely proud of their achievements in such a short space of time, and we hope that you enjoy taking a look at what they have created. Mrs Womack is sure that they will all go from strength to strength when they start at Todmorden High School in September, and has thoroughly enjoyed meeting them all.
The show opened on Wednesday evening at the gallery, and will be on for the next three weeks until the 30th June 2017. It is open to the public from Thursday-Sunday each week. We hope that you will get the chance to attend and celebrate the students wonderful work.
