Fountains Abbey 2017

Mr Womack recently took a group of our students to explore the ruins of Britain’s richest Abbey. They spent a day in the life of a monk, wearing the robes, learning latin chants and competing for promotions to cellarer, prior and head of Choir. Following a tour of the beautiful ruins, they ventured out on a walk through the Victorian Water Gardens up to the deer park where we were able to get a superb view of deer in their natural habitat. This is part of the school’s recently acquired membership to the National Trust, where students can visit exciting landmarks and properties to gain a taste of history. Students went on this trip last year which was a great success.
