We are delighted with our GCSE results once again. They reflect the great effort and hard work of our staff, our parents and, most importantly, our students. Overall, our students performed above expectation and we couldn’t be more pleased! This means that they will now move into ongoing education, employment or training with great results that will increase the opportunities available to them in the future.
Many students gained remarkable results. Peter Bath, Lydia Stephenson and Maisy Leadbitter gained the highest grade possible (grade 9) in English and James Allen, Luis Diggle, Xanthe Earnshaw, Isobelle Green, Lauren Kirkup, Jack Lavelle, Megan O’Callaghan, Benjamin Perry, Dylan Ryder and Eva Powter achieved tremendous results across the board with significant numbers of grades A*, A and B.
Headline data indicates that many of our subject areas performed very well. Once again our English department was strong with the percentage of students achieving a strong pass (grade 5) and a standard pass (grade 4) being much higher than the likely national average and this is also the case for the percentage of students achieving a strong pass in Maths.
This great set of results gives us a great stepping off point to achieve even greater things during this academic year and should fill the the parents of the 182 students who are due to arrive in September with great confidence. It is no surprise that we will be full in September and our open evening for potential entrants in September 2018 is on 5th October – please see the school website for details. Everyone is welcome.
