Some of our key stage 3 artists have recently been researching the British artist Henry Moore. They have created presentations in response to their research and have produced some outstanding pieces of work.
The work we have seen from these students in particular is especially outstanding. Esme, Poppy, Rosie and Amelia have shown great talent and artistic flair, along with enthusiasm and commitment to learning.
We are exceptionally proud to boast such remarkable students here at Todmorden High School, well done!
“Students found out information and facts about the life and work of the artist, looked at examples of his drawings, paintings and sculptures and even in some cases recorded visits they had made to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to see some of the sculptures in the natural environment.
They found a variety of ways to present their research creatively, including making folders, posters and models from salt dough.
The pieces of work presented showed thought, skill and understanding with some detailed, personal and insightful analysis of the work of Henry Moore. I was very impressed!”
